RESPONSIBILITIES

◆ Policy Development & Implementation

Develop procedures and interprets and applies policy for area of expertise to achieve specified outputs, or advise the wider business on application of policy, then monitor implementation of those procedures within the organization.

PXiSE is seeking a Contracts Specialist to be responsible for the management and administration of commercial sales contracts for the installation, design, engineering, and commissioning of PXiSE Software Products and Services, in addition to the management and administration of supplier agreements. The Contracts Specialist will support successful execution of contracts and must be comfortable breaking down complex documents and models into digestible parts, setting clear deadlines, organizing and improving processes, leading meetings, and working within teams to complete deliverables on demanding timelines. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a passion for creative and pragmatic problem solving in a startup environment. The role will be 50% Commercial Sales Support, 20% Proposal Support, 10% Contract Administration, 10% Supplier/Vendor Agreements, 10% Other.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide proposal support for the Commercial Sales Team to review Requests for Proposals (RFP)/Requests for Information (RFI), contract templates, and any other documentation that includes commercial terms.
  • Draft, review, redline, and negotiate all commercial contracts and supplier/vendor agreements to include MSA’s with Task Authorizations, Service and Product Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, Marketing Agreements.
  • Contracting activities are primarily focused on development and sales of IT software; knowledge of software-related IP issues will be instrumental.
  • Participate in key meetings as a business advisor and provide contractual support as needed.
  • Will perform legal functions that require analytical risk assessment and problem-solving skills, independent judgment, strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Implement negotiating strategies for technical, commercial, and legal terms (scope, cost, schedule, LDs, etc.)
  • Coordinate contract reviews with the appropriate focus “i.e., cybersecurity, corporate governance, legal, technical”
  • Provide contractual support to Project Managers in the execution of projects, tracking commercial issues, and drafting formal correspondence.
  • Monitor contract compliance to ensure that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly in accordance with Yokogawa Policies and Procedures.
  • Aid in all Sourcing Event activities related to supplier agreements to include procuring technologies/equipment/services in support of customer projects through tender development, issuance of RFP’s, to source selection, and on to contract award.
  • Participate in special projects or other duties as needed.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, finance, or supply chain required.
  • Juris doctorate is preferred

Required Experience

  • 5-10 + years in a comparable contracts administration or contracts management role

Other Working Conditions:

  • Domestic and international travel < 5%.

The PXiSE Project Controls Analyst is responsible for working across a matrixed organization to create compelling presentations, proposals, and thorough financial and economic models.This person will report to the [Project Controls Lead] and will be tasked with supporting price strategy and enhancing the project controls and reporting processes.

The Project Controls Analyst will support successful execution of projects and must be comfortable breaking down complex documents and models into digestible parts, setting clear deadlines, organizing and improving processes, leading meetings, and working within teams to complete deliverables on demanding timelines. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a passion for creative problem solving in a startup environment.

DUTIES:

  • Project Controls: Work with project implementation teams to manage project budgets and track cost, schedule, and scope progress. Participate in project schedule status meetings, support achievement of project deliverables and ensure accurate pro forma financial reporting. Work collaboratively with Project Managers to evaluate risks and compare against the remaining contingency amount. Participate in project closeout meetings and support lessons learned. Develop data and perform analysis on cost, resource utilization, and margin for assigned projects. Assist in planning and forecasting PXiSE financial performance. Develop cash flow and costing reports. Develop actual vs. plan reports, analyze variances, and communicate results to Sr. Mgmt. in a clear, organized summary.
  • Price Strategy & Proposal Support: Support price strategy and help manage the successful execution of the strategy across PXiSE product offerings. Leverage project controls and analysis to influence price modeling and strategy. Support the development of quotes and proposals based on project requirements and proposed solutions. Ensure timely delivery of quotes and proposals while managing other responsibilities.
  • Project Pipeline: Manage project pipeline from proposal submitted through project deployment and support. Prepare monthly reports and perform conversion rate analysis to track progress and influence sales strategy.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Follow market, technology, and policy trends to inform business direction. Develop thorough techno-economic analysis of PXiSE product offerings and customer use cases to ensure successful financial outcomes achieved with clients. Continually analyze information requests and provide support to management in the development of market analysis materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

As a Controls and Optimization Architect at PXiSE, you will architect control and optimization algorithms that will shape the future of the electric grid. Your primary responsibilities will be to design, code, test, and document software algorithms and routines for grid control and optimization. You will be a part of a team with decades of domain and software development experience. You will contribute to both new products and enhancements to existing products and will work closely with other teams at PXiSE to deliver high-quality software for our customers.

DUTIES/RESULTS:

  • Design algorithms to achieve specific optimization, control, and network modeling objectives.
  • Develop data models for representing power networks and related domain-specific data.
  • Simulate different grid conditions and the effects of controls and optimization.
  • Develop reusable code libraries and functions.
  • Follow established design patterns to deliver scalable, robust, and secure applications.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated support requests; identify and correct software defects.
  • Write well-documented code; contribute to user and system documentation.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, write and review user stories, create and assign tasks, estimate work effort.
  • Work closely with other staff, such as system architects, support engineers, and product managers.
  • Update technical knowledge and skills with software development technologies.
  • Mentor other team members and provide guidance and expertise on best practices and processes.
  • Deliver presentations and demos to the team and stakeholders on features or product knowledge.

Education & Experience:

  • 2 – 5+ years of controls and optimization experience as an engineer or an academic utilizing Python, R, MATLAB, or similar software.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Master’s Degree in controls, chemical, mechanical, or power engineering
  • Experience in the energy, power systems, grid technology field with applications to power network modeling utilizing OpenDSS, PSCAD, or similar software is a plus
  • Experience computing load flow and network models is a plus
  • PhD in controls, chemical, mechanical, or power engineering is a plus

Qualifications:

  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software tools and environments and programming techniques.
  • Domain specific knowledge in energy, utilities, power systems, controls or related fields is a plus.

Work Environment: Remote office (work from home) is available to qualified individuals. Travel to the home office in San Diego, CA on a monthly to quarterly basis is required.

The Sales Manager I will be responsible for collaborating on and maintaining Go-To-Market plan to drive significant growth through channel partners, End User, OEM, Utilities and Developers within the microgrid industry (front of the meter or behind the meter). The position will utilize, existing processes, tools, and collaborate metrics and planning to implement our sales strategy. The Sales Manager role will analyze data gathered through the organization to determine sales potential, industry segments to focus on and fast growth areas to maximize sales opportunities and will be responsible for achieving maximum market penetration and attain the company’s sales growth and order intake objectives. Collaborates across functions to provide direction and implement changes that drive sales growth. This position will be responsible for creating new channels and new sales based on renewables participation for commercial and industrial customers; with a slant towards renewable-based, advanced microgrids.

Requirements:

  • Contribute to the growth of PXiSE by playing an active and communicative role as a member of the PXiSE Sales Team by providing input and perspective on policies and ethical guidelines, Processes and Programs for our sales team (Source Analysis, Opportunity Management, Account Planning, and Opportunity Action Plans)
  • Ensure we deliver our collective results including sales targets, new account acquisition, portfolio expansion within existing accounts, and profitable growth within microgrid development industry (advanced microgrid focus).
  • Collaborate on and maintain a Go-To-Market strategy in alignment with key stakeholders in the organization as well as Product Management, Engineering and Operations
  • Focus on achieving and exceeding both order and revenue targets for incremental and long-term targets.
  • Track and execute sales to meet/exceed global forecasts, planning tools, scorecards, metrics, outlined in the annual sales plan primarily focusing on both new and existing channel customers to execute strategy.
  • Drive new and existing customer sales strategies, tactics, and processes leveraging Yokogawa/PXiSE offerings and solutions.
  • Be constructively critical of our market solutions, thoughtfully recommending/implementing improvements focused on maximizing our go-to-market strategy and overall value proposition.
  • Work to ensure timely and thorough administration of current sales contracts.
  • Provide avenues and viable solutions to resolve first-line sales issues. Contact Technical/Product support team for support when necessary.
  • Establishes relationships with large and strategically important customers.
  • Target accounts that are strategically important to develop business opportunities at these accounts.

Prior Experience:  5+ years of selling ideally in commercial and industrial energy supply industry, preferably providing microgrid solutions to include 3+ years’ experience calling on customer’s, upper management and VP levels.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills (including writing and delivering internal and external presentations, delivering technical specs, supporting with marketing communications, supporting value proposition materials and alliances)
  • Must convey a professional, competent image.
  • Experience with privacy policies
  • Experience with compliance policies
  • Experience with establishing and managing performance management frameworks
  • Experience in Sales or Sales Operations
  • Experience in direct and indirect sales preferred
  • Experience with new product / solution go-to-market
  • Experience with establishing or maintaining alliance partner relationships

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.  The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.  The noise level in the environment is reasonable.

Physical Demand: Travel 50% While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.  The employee is required to talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds.  The vision requirements include depth perception, ability to adjust focus, close vision, and color vision.
