ABC News Australia and ABC Radio Perth recently featured results from a power generation pilot in Onslow, Australia where the community operated entirely on a solar-plus-stored-energy model. The results were achieved by combining PXiSE’s Microgrid Controller and DERMS.
WA Minister Bill Johnston said, “Nowhere else in the world has been able to achieve 100% renewable energy without the backup of spinning turbines such as a hydroelectric powerplant. This Onslow trial is a genuinely globally important trial that’s being looked at from around the world and if we can learn how do that here in Western Australia, that’s technology that can be sold to the world.”
